Government advice on the Environment Act 1995 says that National Parks are in a strong position to influence the way we care for the countryside, and act as models for sustainable management.

We try to incorporate the principles of sustainable development - promotion and enhancement of environmental, economic and community well-being - in everything we do. We assess our policies and actions to maximise economic, social and environmental benefits.

National Park Management Plan
