Born and lives in Penrith, Cumbria. Educated at St Catherine’s RC School, Penrith. Married with three children and six grandchildren. Agriculture Engineer (time served) West Cumberland Farmers. Two years national service 1956-1958 with Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers, served in Africa and Middle East. Worked in dairy industry most of working life and is now semi-retired. Interested in flying GA light aircraft and holds Private Pilots License. Enjoys train holidays in Europe.
