Make waves in the Lake District!

We're half a mile from Coniston village on the shores of Coniston Water, the lake that inspired Arthur Ransome's "Swallows and Amazons". There's parking, or arrive by launch.

Things to do:

  • Hire a boat an electric self-drive boat
  • Hire a rowing boat
  • Hire a sailing dinghy or learn to sail
  • Picnic on the lake shore
  • Go canoeing or kayaking
  • Check out other lake attractions like cafe, launches and adventure activities.

Opening times

Boat hire available 7 days a week from 10am - 4.30pm or later in midsummer. Check out hire charges.

You can also launch your own boat from the centre, and we can provide seasonal or year round storage facilities for all types of boat. You can find out more on our Launching and storage charges page.
