Filming
The beautiful scenery of the Lake District appears in countless films and TV series such as 'Pandaemonium' and 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall'. Check out our Wallpaper for a taster of the scenery.
In spring 2006 Renée Zellwegger and Ewan McGregor filmed scenes for the "Miss Potter" film - read more on our Beatrix Potter page.
Probably the most famous film set here is 'Withnail and I', filmed near Shap where two down-at-heel actors "come on holiday by mistake" in the 1960s. To track down exact locations, check out Mardale Inn's Withnail and I page (opens in new window).
