Don't ruffle your feathers - take the bus!

The Osprey Bus links Keswick with a round Bassenthwaite Lake public transport route taking in Whinlatter and the Dodd Wood viewpoint of the ospreys.

  • Runs Saturday and Sunday 12 April to 20 July 2008, then daily until 31 August 2008
  • Extra days 5 May and 26 to 30 May 2008
  • Six daily lake circuits, taking alternate anticlockwise and clockwise routes
  • Early direct service from Keswick to Whinlatter.

Osprey Viewpoint

The Lake District Osprey Project Viewpoint at the Forestry Commission’s Dodd Wood gives open-air viewing of the birds and will be staffed until the end of Wednesday 31 August. It is located, 3 miles north of Keswick, off the A591 The Viewpoint is open all daylight hours. Between 10 am and 5 pm, the osprey project information team are on hand with telescopes for visitors to use.
