This short linear route provides an opportunity to view some fine mountain scenery in one of the quieter Lake District valley locations. The route follows a tarmaced road surface with some steep sections but negotiable by electric powered chairs and a manual chair with the assistance of a pusher. The views up the valley are very impressive. Look out for peregrine falcons and ravens which nest along the route in the high crags. Raven Crag on your left as you travel north up the valley is particularly noted as a site for nesting birds.
Leaving the church follow the road left to The Nook and Greenhead and follow the tarmaced path northwards up the valley to Hartrigg Farm. The return route is by the same tarmaced path.
