Windermere Byelaws Review
After extensive public consultation carried out earlier this year, we have made new byelaws about the registration of power driven vessels and the control of navigation on Windermere.
The new byelaws consolidate amendments made to the original Windermere byelaws. It makes them easier to follow as people now don't need to refer to several different documents to understand the current rules.
We considered more than 500 representations received as part of the consultation exercise. These led to changes to the originally proposed byelaws. The new byelaws were approved at a meeting of the Authority on 23 July 2008. The Authority has now given formal notice of its intention of applying for confirmation of the new byelaws by the Secretary of State.
